Each of these lives were important.  Each of these individuals were unique; precious expressions of the Divine Life we all celebrate.  More difficult for us to grasp and understand is the same is true for the man who took these lives and injured many more.  The debates over guns and laws and theology must wait for another day.

Today I invite you to read each name and allow a prayer to connect your heart to the great One Spirit and Source each soul has returned to.  Hold the vision of peace and harmony in your mind.  See the day when none of us lives in fear or lack.  It will be a day of sharing our humanity while connecting our souls.

We must re-commit ourselves to living bolding in the face of darkness, for darkness is all around.  It is the shadow cast when we become a block to the Light of Love, Wisdom and Compassion.  The Light shines as brightly as ever; we simply can’t see it for the fear and limits we have constructed in our minds.  We see only the dark.  To overcome the darkness we must let the Light shine through us and out into the world.   We must face the Light without fear and limits and allow Love to illuminate all the corners of our heart.

Without labels, every mortal being is an expression of Spirit.  We create the labels and then react to the label.  We would not push away an expression of Spirit but we easily push away the labels in our humanity.  Violence and hatred has never led to understanding and peace.  We must re-commit to a path of peace within that leads us to peace without.

We read these names today with a commitment to these beings who have taken flight, to all those injured and those scarred by what they’ve seen, and to all who have died in violence: I stand for peace and understanding. May peace prevail in the hearts and minds of all beings.  Plan now to join us June 26 for our #PresentPerfect celebration of the perfection within each of us and our stand as an LGBTQ welcoming community.
